Free iPod: Not a Scam
September 27, 2004
Free iPods from freeIpods.com apparently not a scam
UPDATE! Editor Steve got his free iPod and is now working on a FREE 40GB photo iPod!
So, you want a free iPod but think all the web ads and SPAM are bogus? Ordinarily, we'd agree with you. HOWEVER, Wired Magazine did a little research last month and discovered that free iPods might not be as outrageous a concept as it seems.
Here's the quick and dirty of it:
- Go to freeiPods.com or freephotoiPods.com
- Complete a free trial period on some product (or sign up for a credit card or make a small purchase)
- Get five friends to complete free trial periods (ten for a photo iPod)
- Get your free iPod
The main pain in the ass is going through a free trial period and having to call up to cancel the trial so the automatic continued billing doesn't occur. When Editor Steve called to cancel his free AOL trial, the representative talked on and on about how cool and legitimate the whole free iPod marketing campaign was. As usual, Newmoanyeah won't be held responsible for anything, but for all intents and purposes, free iPods are out there to be had!
